Windsurfing Western Australia (Inc) is windsurfing's representative body in WA and exists to promote and support all aspects of our sport. WWA organises all sorts of windsurfing events for all levels and types of sailor, throws great parties and other social activities, provides members with Third Party Liability Insurance during events, arranges activities to improve your skills and brings all of WA's windsurfers together under one body.
So whether you are just starting out, enjoy blasting across the river with your mates, get your adrenalin kicks chasing mast high waves, or simply enjoy a sail with the kids at weekends, why not join Windsurfing WA? Membership is inexpensive and open to anyone.

What do I get for my membership fee?
All events (except parties and LOC Marathon/ Waves (which are not WWA events)) are included in your membership. So, no excuse for not coming along. WWA has a fantastic events program. No need for stacks of gear as we encourage newcomers. It's a great way to meet people, find out the ins and outs of a new sailing spot and to really improve your sailing skills.
Access to windsurfing locations
Windsurfers should be aware of the pressures that exist from councils towards windsurfing locations. There have been several examples where local councils have threatened to restrict or cease windsurfing activity at beaches in the Perth area. The most recent example of this is Brighton and other beaches within the City of Stirling (2011). Swift involvement by WWA committee and vigilant WWA members means that these great windsurfing locations, that we all take for granted, remain accessible.
There also exists the opportunity to create improvements to our sailing spots. Scope exists for setting up formalised membership of local council "beach user groups" to help push the windsurfing cause to keep informed of any potential changes to existing access. Get in touch with the WWA committee if you are interested in being involved.
Meet new friends
Joining WWA is a great way to meet new friends with a common interest. WWA has a great social calendar. Typically we hold a season opening party, some social wave events and an end of season party.
It's also a great way to get advice on that windsurfing move you're been trying to master or to find out about new sailing locations. There are many amazing windsurfing locations in WA from the Pilbara to the coastline east of Esperance. What better way to see the coastline than from at sea on a windsurfer? By talking to other members you can find out about amazing places that you may not have considered!
