A small amount of prize money for Under 21s is currently being sought depending on sponsorship.

Entry Criteria

Please note we have a Shire imposed restriction of 70 entrants, so please register early to guarantee your place.  Entries on the day or after our maximum has been reached will NOT be accepted.  Register early to avoid disappointment.

To secure your spot, please register by 23 January 2026.  If you can only attend certain days and not others, please register and text +61 408 909 643 with your name and dates you can not attend.

How To Enter

Step 1: First register as a member with Windsurfing WA for insurance puposes.  You can choose a full year membership or a single event membership if you are only doing the Margaret River event.

Step 2: Enter the event via liveheats - World Wave Tour (PWA/IWT).

Entry Fees

Because it is a four star event, we have been asked to align entry fees with other global four star events.  Along with sponroship, this helps to pay for prize money, safety jet skis, drone, photography, judges, catering and more.  Events are not cheap to run!

Event Schedule:

  • Saturday 31st January to Sunday 8  February - competition could be held on any day in this period.
  • Opening / closing parties to be advised when forecasts become known.  The Common Bistro will be hosting both and are providing their famous burgers for the Opening Party.

Pre Entry Requirements

Entrants will need to be full WWA members or purchase Single Event Membership in order to compete. Note this is essential to provide the adequate insurance for the event and also provides you with personal injury cover and 3rd party liability cover during the event.

Divisions

With number restrictions, we prefer Pro and Masters only enter one division - please select the best one for your skill level and competitive desires.  If you feel you are capable of achieving a good result in both divisions, you may still enter both.

Top ranked  U18 and U21 are encouraged to enter multiple divisions.  People intending to do multiple world tour events in 2026 are also able to enter more than one division.  Pro Juniors aged 18-21 will be given automatic entry into the Pro Men/Pro Women.

  • Pro Men (lower ranked competitors who do not make the cut may be placed into Masters if they qualify for that age range).
  • Pro Women
  • U21 Pro Junior Men/Pro Junior Women
  • U18 Boys/Girls
  • Ray White Stocker Preston Masters: Age 45 and older
  • Grand Masters: 60+ (1 heat only)

Competition Format

We will aim to run a 'dingle' format which gives everyone at least 2 heats.

In the event of limited wind and/or waves we may run alternative formats.

Safety

The usual safety measures will be in place for this event as per previous years, including one to two jet skis and sleds driven by experienced Water Patrol Australia safety crew (one for smaller swell, two for larger swell).

Please note if the Department of Transport rules requires that if you sail beyond 400m of the shore the law requires you to wear a Type 2/Level 50 life jacket.
