Terms Of Registration

In accepting my entry, I agree to be bound by the racing rules and all other rules governing this event.  I acknowledge and accept that I am solely responsible for deciding to enter and to start and or to continue to compete.   I further acknowledge and agree that participation in this event can be dangerous and shall accept that my participation is at my exclusive risk in every respect.  By way of my entry being accepted, I hold harmless the organising authority, its officers, members, servants, agents and all other competitors in respect of all liability for injury to my person and or loss or damage to my property howsoever arising from my participation or intended participation in this event.   I acknowledge and accept that the organising authority, its officers, members, servants, agents and other competitors accept no responsibility in respect of loss of life, personal injury or loss or damage to property which may be sustained by reason of my participation or intended participation in this event or arising for whatever reason in connection with this event.’

You declare that:

  • All the information given by you to the Organisers is true and correct
  • You have read this form, fully understand its terms, and sign it voluntarily
  • You understand that you have given up substantial rights by signing this form

1. Introduction

By registering as a volunteer for the 2026 Wave Rally World Championships at Coronation Beach, Howatharra, you agree to abide by the following Terms of Registration. These terms outline your responsibilities, rights, and obligations as a volunteer at the event. Please read them carefully before completing your registration.

2. Eligibility to Volunteer

To be eligible to volunteer, you must be at least 18 years old at the time of the event. You must be able to perform the volunteer duties as outlined in the volunteer role descriptions provided.

3. Volunteer Role and Responsibilities

As a volunteer, you agree to:

  • Perform duties assigned by the Event Organisers in a professional and responsible manner.
  • Comply with all event protocols, safety regulations, and instructions provided by the Event Organisers, staff, and other personnel.
  • Wear any event-specific uniforms, identification, or safety gear provided during your volunteer shifts.
  • Be punctual and committed to the hours for which you have registered. If you are unable to fulfill your volunteer commitment, you must notify the Event Organisers as soon as possible.
  • Respect the rights and dignity of all event participants, staff, and fellow volunteers.
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents immediately to the designated event safety officers.

4. Health and Safety

Volunteers must:

  • Be physically fit and capable of performing the duties required of the position.
  • Inform the Event Organisers of any health or medical conditions that may affect your ability to safely perform your duties.
  • Follow all safety guidelines provided, including those related to water safety, event set-up, and emergency procedures.
  • Adhere to all health and safety protocols, if applicable, or any other health-related protocols in effect at the time of the event.

5. Insurance

After registering as a volunteer at the 2026 Wave Rally World Championships, the Australian Sailing Personal Accident Insurance covers the volunteers for accidents.

What is not covered?

  • This policy is not Private Health or Life Insurance cover. It only provides compensation related to personal injury incurred when engaged in volunteering and windsurfing activities that are organised by affiliated clubs.
  • Expenses already reimbursed by Medicare or other insurers cannot be claimed a second time under this policy.
  • Medical Expenses that are covered by Medicare (including the Medicare Gap) such as Surgeons, Anaesthetists and x-rays are unable to be covered by the Personal Accident policy- federal laws do not permit this.

6. Media Consent

You grant permission for the Event Organisers to take photographs, video recordings, and other media of you during the event. You understand that this media may be used for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media, websites, and marketing materials. If you do not wish to appear in such media, you must notify the Event Organisers in writing prior to the event.

7. Confidentiality

As a volunteer, you may have access to confidential or proprietary information related to the event, its operations, and participants. You agree not to disclose, share, or misuse any confidential information obtained during your involvement as a volunteer.

8. Volunteer Code of Conduct

Volunteers are expected to:

  • Treat all individuals with respect, fairness, and courtesy.
  • Refrain from engaging in any behavior that is disruptive, discriminatory, or offensive.
  • Be mindful of the event’s reputation and act in a way that reflects positively on the event and its stakeholders.

9. Termination of Volunteer Role

The Event Organisers reserve the right to terminate your volunteer role at any time if you fail to adhere to the terms outlined in this agreement, engage in misconduct, or are unable to meet the requirements of your assigned duties. In such cases, you will be informed promptly and will forfeit any volunteer benefits or compensation associated with the event.

10. Amendments to Terms

The Event Organisers reserve the right to amend these Terms of Registration at any time. Any changes will be communicated to you and will apply to all volunteers from the date of notification.

11. Governing Law

This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Western Australia, and any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia.


By registering as a volunteer for the 2026 Wave Rally World Championships, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the above Terms of Registration.
