Big wind, close racing and a beach full of windsurfing energy—Wave Rally is about much more than the people on the water. Join our volunteer crew at the 2027 Wave Rally World Championships and help create a welcoming, memorable event for competitors, families and spectators at Coronation Beach.
Whether you can spare a few hours or help across both competition days, your time makes a real difference. Meet people from across the windsurfing community, learn how an event comes together and enjoy being part of the action from a different perspective.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
- Registration and welcome: check in competitors, distribute event materials and help people find their way.
- Race administration: assist with recording results, timekeeping and event communications under the team’s guidance.
- Beach and event support: help with approved set-up tasks, race logistics and keeping the event site running smoothly.
- Spectator assistance: answer questions, share event information and direct people to the right team member.
- Specialist roles: water safety and equipment operation are assigned only to specifically authorised people with the appropriate skills and qualifications.
We will work with you to find a role suited to your experience, availability and capabilities. You do not need to be a competitive windsurfer to help with many of our shore-based roles. A friendly attitude, reliability and a willingness to follow the team’s guidance go a long way.
WHEN & WHERE
The event takes place at the Geraldton Windsurfing Club, Coronation Beach, Howatharra, on the best two competition days within 6–10 January 2027. The selected days will be confirmed around four to five days before the event, once the forecast is clearer. Let us know which dates and times you can offer, and we will coordinate shifts through the volunteer roster.

Volunteers must be 18 or older at the event. Register here and your confirmation email will include the volunteer information, roster and event WhatsApp link. Before starting your shift, check in with the team and attend the briefing for your role.
